About our shipping policy

At our store, you’re not just buying a product — you’re investing in sustainable, high-quality furniture and accessories that, with proper care, will last for many years. Our often heavy and robust balcony furniture is handmade with care.

These premium balcony pieces therefore deserve appropriate and careful shipping. From quality control to careful packing and dispatch, we do everything we can to deliver your purchase in perfect condition. We’ve already made many customers happy!

That’s why all of our products are professionally and securely packaged, so your order arrives safely and undamaged at the place where it will stand for years — or eventually find a new home.

Because of their weight and size, larger items such as the balcony bench and balcony lounge set are shipped in multiple parcels. For even heavier and larger balcony furniture such as the balcony lounge bench and the balcony daybed, we use pallet transport for maximum protection during transit. Unfortunately, these cannot be shipped via standard parcel services.

Prefer to pick up your order yourself? You can! You’re very welcome to collect your order free of charge by appointment in Woerden (Province of Utrecht).

Which countries do we ship to

We deliver to countries within and outside the EU. Below you will find a shortlist of countries, including their shipping costs and delivery times. If your country is not listed, please contact us for current costs, delivery times, and possibilities.

Our shipping partners charge additional fees for remote areas. Remote areas are defined by postcode, so it is possible that you live in a remote area. These postcodes and additional costs per package are listed under the country to which the shipment is made.

One more thing. If your package is delivered via a parcel service, you will receive a message in advance indicating the delivery time window. This message includes a tracking link with various options to modify your delivery.

For example, you can give permission to leave the package at your address or have it delivered to your neighbors. If you choose to give permission to leave the package, you authorize the delivery driver to place that specific package in a safe location at your home or deliver it to your neighbors.

By doing so, you as the consumer give permission to the parcel service and are responsible for any damage or theft.

All resulting costs, such as additional shipping costs, return costs, damages, and compensation to Het Balkonbankje for incomplete and therefore unsellable products, will be borne by you as the responsible consumer.

  • Depending on the order size or the dimensions of the box, your order will be delivered by a parcel service or a pallet carrier
  • Large balcony furniture such as a balcony bench, balcony chair, balcony lounge sofa, balcony storage box, balcony bed, or a balcony lounge set will be shipped in multiple sturdy and well-packaged cardboard boxes or on a pallet
  • Smaller and lighter products will be shipped in a sturdy and well-packaged cardboard box

Shipping Method Outside the Netherlands

  • Depending on the order size or box dimensions, the order will be delivered by a parcel service or a carrier on a pallet.
  • Parcels/small boxes will be shipped in a sturdy and well-packaged cardboard box.

Points of attention during delivery

We take the greatest possible care when sending and delivering our products to the given delivery address.

  • To ensure the best possible delivery, we recommend that you provide a mobile phone number where the person who will receive the order can be reached on the day of delivery. This way we or the driver can let you know exactly what time we will arrive and you can prepare for the delivery. Often there will be a phone call +/- 30 minutes before delivery.
  • Always make sure that someone is present at the agreed time to take the order.
  • Indicate well in advance if there are any situations that could make the delivery more difficult, making the accessibility of the delivery address less good or impossible.
  • As soon as your order has been registered with the external carrier or parcel service, you will receive one or more track and trace numbers via e-mail
  • If the order is delivered on one or more pallets, these pallets will always be returned with you
  • The external carrier or parcel service delivers to the door or hallway on the first floor. Unless otherwise agreed, you must therefore take the order yourself and place it in the appropriate place
  • If the delivery is outsourced to an external carrier you will receive a receipt or order letter from the driver
  • If the package may be delivered to the neighbors, please report this in advance
  • Always check the offered order for damage. If these are made to the packaging and therefore possibly the content, you should take pictures and ask for a signature from the driver. This is very important in a possible warranty process
  • Good to know. If you are going to receive a package via a parcel delivery service, you will receive a message from the parcel delivery service shortly beforehand about the time period in which your package will be delivered. In this message you will find a link to several options to change your delivery. Think of a drop off permission or drop off at the neighbors. If you choose for drop off permission then you give the driver of the parcel delivery service permission to drop off or give in to the neighbors only that specific parcel at a safe place in your house. For this you, the consumer, give permission to the parcel deliverer. At that moment The Balcony Bench is no longer responsible for any damage whatsoever. All costs resulting from this, such as extra shipping costs, return costs, damage and compensation to The Balcony Bank for an incomplete and therefore unsalable product, will be borne by you as a responsible consumer.
